This error returned by Windows means:

"he data item has been added to the query but has not been validated nor accessed"

There is very to no information available about the error. However based on feedback from some users it could be that the counter you defined is wrong.

    Hello,

I know that is a general error, but how can I troubleshoot this problem? I've tried with sample counter like memory or free space.

    any suggestion, please?

do you have this on all systems or just on one particular.

Can you connect to the ipc$ of the remote host?

    Hi there,

sorry for the answer delay. I have this problem on all servers.

and I cannot connect on the ipc$ but I can connect on C$ for example

how the perfcount works? what I can check to debug the connection?

    Best Regards

    Michele

The IPC$ share is used with temporary connections between clients and servers by using named pipes for communications among network programs. It is primarily used for remote administration of network servers.

Following help article from Microsoft outlines how to activate ipc$ on systems:

from the monitor server I have made a net use serveripc$ /user:username

    and the connection works fine.

I have used the same user that i'm Using with servercheck.

It seems to be unable to access Performance Counters on your system. As we can't replicate it, it is a bit tricky to find the root cause, especially when Microsoft doesn't provide much help in clarifying their errors.

Development is going to work on checking if the protocol for accessing the performance counters can be modified. If so then you will be invited to test a new build.

This will take a few weeks.

In the mean time there is an alternative solution by using the SNMP Agent from SNMP Informants. They make the different performance counters available for querying through the SNMP protocol:

    Hello,

I have found the problem. The serverscheck is trying to connect to the remote server with the machine account instead of the service user account.

Do you know why this happen? I thought the serverscheck use the user account that I have configured.

    any suggestion, please?

    Hello,

i'm using and setted the domain account, the problem is that serverscheck doesn't use this account but try to connect to the other server with the server account.

for example if my serverscheck server is call srvmonitor, I see that the server when try to collect information for perfcount present itself with domainsrvmonitor not with the user that I have setted...

Could you help me to understand why, please?
