perfcount 800007D5 error
7.8.8 I am trying to set up a performance counter for a network interface recording, "bytes received/sec". The actual performance counter that I'm trying to query is "Network Interface(Intel(R) PRO_1000 MT Network Connection_2)Bytes Received/sec" and i receive the 800007D5 error. The performace counter of "Terminal ServicesActive Sessions" works on the same server so i don't believe its an authenication issue persay. Ant idea on what else i could check or is there an easier way to capture bytes sent/sec and bytes received/sec?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Performance counters are great but a nightmare in terms of Microsoft's error reporting. The error 800007D5 means "No data to return"
As you indicated: another counter works on the same server meaning that authentication is not the issue. Are you sure that the counter is correct?
Nic data can also be checked via SNMP (including the Bytes sent and received).
One of those is the bytes sent & received. Perform a SNMP walk using a MIB browser to get the right OID for your NIC.
