Windows Firewall Blocking Windows Health

We have serverscheck running on server A, performing PINGS en Health monitor to server B.

When we activate the Firewall, we see that the Health monitors are done on port Z. Opening port Z activates the Health monitor. When restarting the server, port Z is no longer used but Y (other number).



How can we configure The windows firewall on server B to always accept the health monitor.

WINDOWSHEALTH checks are based on the WMI protocol which requires both the WMI port (445 TCP) and RPC (135)



Opening these ports should be done with a lot of care as it holds some big security risks.

Sorry it did not work and the ports are open.

If we look with netstat, then the windows heath comes via an other port after rebooting the server.



It is on a local network.

ServersCheck uses the PING command and then the WMI protocol. As per Microsoft's specifications, WMI requires 2 ports to be open: 445 and 135.
