ESCALATED ALERT

mabumabu
Hi,

I have a problem with the ESCALATED ALERT emails which will send out after the email with the OK for the rule.

The setting for the "DOWN ALERTS" are set to send out a ESCALATED ALERT email after 10 minutes if the rule not acknowledged.

But often the rule switch to OK before the 10 minutes are reached.

If there any setting to avoid this behavior e.g. an automaticly acknowledg of the alert?

If an alert requires acknowledgement then it has to be acknowledged. If not, then it will be escalated regardless of the current state.

The concept is that there was an issue and no one replied to it.

  • OK, then please take this as an Enhancement Request for an optional configuration switch.

Then in some situations it can help.

    Thanks

We would also like this switch to be added as most things don't need to be formally acknowledged in our environment.

We don't always have a staff member onsite to acknowledge the alert, so when we are offsite we have no faith that the escalated alerts we get are the current state of the system.

    Thanks.

When having a GSM modem, then alerts can be acknowledged with a simple SMS.

Change request has been submitted for review to development team for possible inclusion in a future release.

We have the primary alert go to email and the escalation goes to SMS so we only want to receive an sms when it's been down for over 10 minutes so unfortunately acknowledgement via sms doesn't really help us.

    Thanks for taking this onboard.
