mobile device support for dashboard

Anybody have any luck viewing/working with the dashboard on a mobile device? IE on WM6 and opera mini 4 don't seem to work in any sort of usable fashion.

A simplified view (read-only) for mobile devices is planned for release 8 with a focus on Windows Mobile and Symbian.

Currently it works fine on the iPhone (except that the iPhone has no flash support).

will there be a way to aknowledge alerts with the release 8 version?

This can already be done today by using 2 way SMS (need a GSM modem for that)

i have a gsm modem. Can you point me to the documentation that expains how that works?

You need to send back a test message to GSM modem including the escalation id. That's it.

When you send another message (of any other content), then it will be displayed in the today's events list.

I have tried to send back a test message to the GSM modem with and without the esculation ID and the message never shows up in serverscheck. Is tere any additional setup thqats required?

Run the s-alerts.exe in debug mode. it should show that it is scanning the inbox. Send your debug.log file to the helpdesk.

Last topics are going to be removed as they are not part of the initial thread regarding mobile device support.

7.8.5 is now picking up the messages as they are present in the "Today's Events" box but i cannot get the system to acknowledge an alert by sending the escalation id.

The escalation id needs to start with '#' followed by the id number (no spaces) - as in the alert message
