SMS sending with Wavecom GSM modem
Hi.
I’m having a little trouble using a Wavecom GSM modem when sending sms’s in Serverscheck. I’ve tried it using 7.2 and now with 7.5 and still no luck. The GSMmodem_tester.exe utility detects the modem, connects to it and can send messages successfully. I can also send messages via HyperTerminal and Microsoft SMSSender. However, when I send via the Serverscheck webpage when I test the settings the configuration service, it crashes and needs to be restarted. I’ve checked the SMSC number to be correct and it’s also the same as the one the GSMModem_tester.exe detects from the SIM card. There is no pin enabled on the SIM either.
The logs are below:
alert_activityalerts_sent.2007-7-5.log:
# Thu Jul 5 16:47:31 2007 PING SMS sending failed Modem not found on the specified serial port
s-alerts in debug mode:
# Thu Jul 5 17:09:17 2007 Sms Configuration: gsmmodem
# Thu Jul 5 17:09:17 2007 CSCA set to +61418706700
# Thu Jul 5 17:09:17 2007 COM port set to COM3
# Thu Jul 5 17:09:17 2007 Pin code set to 0000 - Pin code has to be desactivated
# Thu Jul 5 17:11:47 2007 PING SMS sending failed Modem not found on the specified serial port
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Patrick

Is your modem support a speed (baudrate) of 19200 in GSM mode? The speed (baudrate) ServersCheck uses is 19200
Run the s-server.exe in debug mode and send the output when it crashes.
Looks like we can't connect to the modem on 19200 baudrate, The GSM tester wont connect and hyperterminal also fails. Is there any way we can customize the baudrate Serverscheck uses so that we (and anyone else) can use a compatible baudrate?

Patrick
I did submit an enhancement request for this with our development team.
A quick online search revealed that there Wavecom GSM modems offering baudrates of up to 38,400 bps
It should send out the SMS alert on 9600 bps. It is a test version but hopefully it resolves your issue.
You can download it from:
http://files.serverscheck.net/beta/s-alerts.zip
We only provide active support for Falcom SAMBA (as we sell it). Other equipment is on self-trial basis.

Is that correct, or Is there some special procedure to get it work? Pls advice and thank!
