sms problems

Enterprise MX1 6.4.2
I created my Clickatell account, paid the money, got the api number, entered it into ServersCheck and I can't seem to get the sms messaging to work.
I can't remember where I saw the error message, but it was along the lines of "unable to connect to sms server".
Any thoughts on how to troubleshoot this please as this looked like it was a very simple set up procedure?

You have a direct Internet connection from the machine running the ServersCheck Monitoring software?
If you are in the UK, your mobile number starts with 44 (no 00 or + -> as per ClickATell instructions)?
Yes I have the API for http(/s?)
Yes for the direct connection (adsl)
Yes, my mobile number is set up as 447966123456
If so, then please login to the online helpdesk and send your serverscheck.conf file so that our support team can replicate your environment.
