File Check

I want to perform FILE check. Problem now I'm blur when configure it. I want to check if there any file missing inside that folder. But I dont the checking will refer to waht rule? Let say I want to check files in folder C:/demo, then how do i know there are missing file inside that folder?

Pls help me on this. I'm evaluation this product for my company. If it will help then we will proceed to buy this /sware

ServersCheck only checks if a predefined file can be found or not. Per file you need to define a rule.



For example if you want to check if a file called example.txt is in your C:demo then you need to define it as such:

FILEEXIST check with as value c:demosample.txt

I'd read at help section taht we can read file content to check list file that we need. SO its mean I create 1 file call filelist.txt, then i put each file name to check? one more thing how do i create device? let say I want to check file inside demo. So the device equal to C:/demo right?

A device is typically the computer name, router name etc...



The device list is managed through the ADMIN tab

I still unable to create a rule for file check. I tried to create rule for file check. When come to step 4 of 5. In help text, it said " The full path to the file (including in its filename) or check the flag to read it from a file. It will then open the filelist.txt in the agendirectory and verify for each filename - one perline - if it exist" the problem is I cant see "flag tp read it from file" but only "Read content from file". But when i check that, no filelist.txt open from whatever directory. Ho to create arule to check list of file from txt file. Please help me on this.

The filelist.txt needs to be located in your agents subdirectory

Agents subdirectory is a subdirectory of your main ServersCheck directory.



I don't know it what folder and on what drive you installed it.



In there create a file called filelist.txt. Edit it and at the full path to each file (one file per row). Save it.



Then in the interface, set the flag. Leave the file path in the rule settings empty.



(see explanation in question mark for the rule when you are in the rule definition)

Here what I do, I create subdirectory folder inside C:Program FilesServersCheck_Monitoringsubdirectory. Then I create filelist.txt and I insert file name to check : "C:DloadSetuptest123.txt". But it return "DOWN". It should not return down because that file was exist. Pls advice.

or in

C:Program FilesServersCheck_Monitoringagents

Seems like the filelist feature is not supported in the trial version. You need to create one rule per file you want to check.

Can you give the content of your filelist.txt file? It is not reading even one file from that list.

It is not executing the file list.



When executing the file list it should return something like:

Please reinstall ServersCheck correctly, make sure the file name is "filelist.txt" with one filename per line.

I manage to perform that task after reinstall it.

But the check will return only 1 file that not exist. Is got 2 or 3 files it wil return the last row of file, that not exist. Is there any way to return all files taht not exist?
