Device offline is triggering SOOO many emails.

I have turned off one of my servers to test the email response. While the device is offline, it constantly emails me saying it's going from OK to DOWN over and over again. I want one email when it goes down and one when it comes back online.

Interval when status is OK/WARNING: 300
Interval when status is down: 60
Retries: 2

Ping:
Set status to DOWN when roundtrip is greater than 500ms

Why is the device reading as OK when it is still off??

    What's the best way to configure ping so that it only sends one email when a server has gone offline for the first time and sends one email when it finally comes back on. Is Ping the best monitor for this?
