SMTP fail - timeout?

Hi



My SMTPPOP3 check and alert messages seems to fail from time to time.



The SMTP server is not down, normal mail clients have no problem sending using this smtp server.



In the SMTP server log it seems that SC sometimes connect and then drop til line:

Is it possible to set the SMTP timeout?

    Timeouts can not be set. Maybe use a combination of BLAT and POP3 check?

    But this won't help that the alert e-mail is not send.

    And why not use the internal mail server instead of your SMTP server for notification?

    I do.

    But the internal mail server need to connect to a mail

    server to deliver the alert - and this action fail.

    Could you try the alerting through the external mail server instead?
