tracking smtp

I am using the standard edition to try to do some troubleshooting of an exchange install.

I can't seem to get a track on anything. I think I have settings correct, with my exchange server, logged in as the admin, from addr as a new exchange acct and the to addr a hotmail acct. Software is installed on the pc I am sending the mail from. I am not getting verification of anything being sent. Does anything need to be installed on my exchange server?

    Is Exchange running in IMAP mode or SMTP relay supported?



    It requires SMTP relay to work.
