Automatic action on monitoring rules

Hello.



Is it possible to configure a scheduled action on monitored device, or an automatic action due to failed monitoring? I need to send a cgi command to a device if this is not responding on a specific port. If so, how? Thank you in advance.

    Yes, this is possible. Under Application performance & availability checks > Special Checks, you can configure an external check that runs a script to check the port you want to monitor. After which, you can configure the down alert to run your CGI command on a batch file on the external check's configuration window > Down Alerts > Addition Alerting Options > Execute an application. This will trigger your CGI command upon missing the declared expected value on the external monitor's configuration window.



    Bottom line, you'll need to have 2 scripts: 1 for the port check/scan and another for your CGI command.
