Gmail SSL changes

Update: This is now working properly starting from the firmware version 3.30. Note that only SensorGateway v5 devices will be supported by the firmware due to hardware restrictions of v4 devices and lower.

Google is rolling out new SSL infrastructure on Gmail by changing it from 1024 bits to 2048 bits.

Older versions of the SensorGateway (v4 and lower) will not work with 2048. This is due to the processor on board of the device. As a result an alternate email provider has to be selected.

For SensorGateways v5+ a firmware update is being developed to support SSL 2048 bits from Google.

Is there a tips and techniques for setting this up. Currently my new sensor gateway is at version 5 and I am getting no response from gmail. I can set up a trace but will need to set up a tap and wireshark trace to see what is being sent and received. There are limitations since this is encrypted transmissions.

The setup would continue to be the same:

    smtp.gmail.com / 465

    SMTP Use SSL - Checked

    SMTP Authentication - Checked

Fill out SMTP U/P, From and To addresses
