Flooding/Water detection false alarms

We have recently begun to receive false Water detected alerts from one of our sensors.



It has been suggested that this can be caused be accumulated dust on the cable.



Should we clean the cable and if so what is the recommended method to do so without damaging it?

You can clean them with a wet cloth
