Merge Devices

I have used the auto discovery to find all my network devices. After I edit one of them and set up the checks, it then finds that same IP address again and thinks it is a different device.



Is there a way to tell SC that these two devices are the same?



I would have thought the IP address would be enough for the software to figure that out.

Excellent question. Monitoring devices by IP is a PITA when an environment has a perfectly serviceable DNS system.

You can enter for any check or device you create a DNS name instead of an IP address. You chose which one you want to use.



For discovery it goes by IP address.
