Unable to SMS Alert
Greetings
We have just installed ServersCheck 8.8.12 and find we can not send SMS alerts via a ZTE USB Modem.
Previously I evaluated this software using this (and another ZTE) modem and all worked fine.
I've searched this forum and followed various instructions on debug mode etc but to no avail.
I can connect to the modem direct (using hyperterm/putty etc). AT+CSCA? returns info as expected and I have varified that the SMSC number is correct etc. I can use this sim in a normal phone and send SMS's with no problems. There is no SIM PIN so can also rule that out.
Is there any known problems with this newer version of serverscheck when it comes to using ZTE USB modems? as I was let to believe that the entire range of ZTE devices were supported/should work fine.

SMS debugging information:
COM port set to COM17
SMSC number returned by SIM: +CSCA: "+61418706700",145
SMS sending failed 0
Possible reasons could be:
1) PIN code is not inactive. SIM card may not require a PIN Code
2) Modem has more than one COM port - wrong one selected.
3) SMSC is not set correctly on SIM card.
You can test the SIM card by inserting it into a regular mobile phone. From that phone send a text message to 040876XXXX

The management software used is (au)Telstra branded as is the modem. After my post I did just as you suggest however it made no difference. I also set the SMSC manually through AT commands as well as using the management software. Stranger also is the fact I can send sms tests through the management software yet serverscheck continues to fail.
Thinking it may have been a problem due to old version 'leftovers' and the new install, I uninstalled and manually cleared all old data before reinstalling.
I have had the same result using a standard IBM pc(XP+sp3) as well as a HP win7 embedded. I am also not discounting hardware errors and will look into that next.
I have also tried setting the SMSC to type/format 129(successfully) both manually and through the software as I read on another site but tests showed the same results.
Normally we only support the modems we sell (and have certified).
I am now also getting repeated errors stating the s-alerts.exe has crashes, something relating to perl although weather this is related or not I can not say.
'Normally we only support the modems we sell (and have certified).'
Is there a list/url of the hardware (usb modems) that have been certified to work with serverscheck.
We have used the Falcom Samba and the Zoom 4595 for our products thus far.
