RTSP

We're currently looking at several monitoring solutions. One of our requirements is the ability to monitor RTSP streams. On http://www.serverscheck.com/monitoring-appliance/checktypes.asp we saw that serverscheck is able to verify if an rtsp media stream exists.

Is this done with a DESCRIBE and then checked if the return is a 200 OK, or are you using a different way to do this? How far does this RTSP checking goes?

It goes beyond the 200 check and actually downloads frames and verifies if the frames match the frame size

So you download several frames and check if each of them matches the frame size as given within the frame?
