Replacement modem still won’t work

I received my new replacement modem and cannot seem to get it to work either.

I have had this device for several months and have never gotten it to work! Very frustrated

I am getting a error message after installation of the modem that states:

There was a problem installign the hardware Mobile Connector

The data is invalid



I am also unable to open the device manager on the unit

    Please note that the modem issue is AT&t related and we are doing what we can to help you as AT&T doesn't seem to resolve it.



    Which replacement modem are you talking about? Falcom or Zoom? Have you followed the instructions manual for configuring the zoom modem on the appliance?

    The unit is a ZOOM Modem

    I have a USB Modem from Verizon, will that work on the appliance?

    No, Verizon doesn't support the GSM network. They only do CDMA. A USB stick such as the 760 from Verizon do only data and have no support for voice nor sms.



    Did you follow the instructions of installing the Zoom modem from the manual? If so at which page are you getting an error.

    On any Windows system you can also right click on the My Computer icon and then Properties.



    If you are familiar with the Windows command prompt, then you can also type following command to launch the device maanger:

    devmgmt.msc

    Update: it seems that the access to the Device Manager was no longer working due to a Windows Update. A Rollback was done to the last good known Windows restore point. This resolved the Device Manager issue.



    The Zoom modem could then be installed as per manual instructions and text messages were received. Issue resolved; modem is now working as confirmed by customer.
