Appliance Software Upgrade

How do I upgrade the software version on my appliance?



I go to Start > Programs > ServersCheck > Monitoring > Upgrade ServersCheck. Click on it, It asks if I want to check for upgrades. Click OK. Tells me there is a newer version available, would I like to upgrade? I click YES. Then pops up a dialog box that states



"A new release is available: ServersCheck Monitoring Software v8



As this is a major upgrade you need to perform a manual upgrade as detailed in our knowledge base.



http://kb.serverscheck.com/index.php?page=index_v2&id=12&c=5



You will be redirected to the above URL when you click on the YES button."



Then a dialog that says upgrade failed.





So my question is, is it safe to follow the manual upgrade instructions for the appliance?

As stated in the dialog box: you need to perform a manual upgrade for this release



However we recommend to wait until at least the first maintenance release is out before doing a major upgrade (see release notes on our site)

OK, thanks. I wait for the next release and then do the manual upgrade.

IS it safe now with 8.0.1?

8.0.1 is good to go with the appliance. Please read the release notes for all upgrades/fixes included in this release.
