Event log check for Japanese OS

minamina
I would like to check Windows event log on a remote PC, and get alert when specifc error string recorded.

Target PC is Windows XP Pro Japanese language version.

But it seems ServersCheck Software can not processing Japanese(double-byte character codes).

When I set "EVENT LOG" rule and try "TEST SETTING", program returns "Status: OK".

But no error detected when specific error recorded in event log of Target PC.

Same is happen with "File Checks" rules.

Is it possible to modify ServersCheck to monitor Japanese Version Windows event log?

In the serverscheck.conf file, is the string correctly stored?

String stored correctly in the serverscheck.conf.

I can see double-byte codes in it as I input on the dashboad.

(ServersCheck is installed on Japanese Windows XP.)

In case of Appliance, Japanese strings are not displayed correctly, as XP Embedded has not Japanese fonts.

But after copying conf file to Japanese OS, I can see Japanese strings stored correctly in it.

To clarify: is the software running on the Appliance or on a Windows Japanese OS box?

Both of them. And I see same problem in both case.

If my explanation of test PC/OS is confusing, please think of the case Software is running on the Appliance.

The Appliances are shipped as English OS versions only. However we need to try and see if the issue is the OS (ie Windows) or the software.

For that a special build is being made and when ready then we would like you to test it on a Japanese installed system.
