DNS resolving

What settings does a URL rule (or any monitoring rule, except specific DNS tests) use to resolve the url given?

This doesn't seem to be the same settings as the computer's network connection uses, so what DNS server does the monitoring application use?

I'm getting notifications telling me that the url cannot be resolved ("The server name or address could not be resolved"), yet I can surf to the site without any issue from the PC that's running the serverscheck application (while the application keeps reporting "Down" again & again). This by using various browsers (with cleared cache), ping, etc.

So the machine itself has no issues resolving the URL to an IP, yet the monitoring application fails.

ServersCheck runs as a service and not under a user account. If DNS server settings are set during login, then you need to make sure they are fixed in the network settings for the computer on which the software runs.

DNS server settings are left unchanged, and are set in the network settings.

Does the application use all DNS servers entered in the network settings, or will it only use the first entry? (which might be an explanation for my specific symptoms, as a browser will switch between DNS servers if the first fails to look-up)
