can’t create file monitor with filelist

gmillerarmtgmillerarmt
7.15.3. Trying to create a new monitor that will check the existence of a list of files. I put the file names in a file called filelist.txt in the agents directory, checked the box in the rule for "read content from file" and i receive the error "Please make sure the FILENAME field was properly completed". If i fill in a value for file name the check box for "Read content from file" becomes unchecked. How do you create a rule to check the exsistence of multiple files? What if i have a second rule that checks the existence of files on another server, how do i specify those unique file names?

We apologize for any inconvenience, apparently there is a bug. The software should allow either to enter a parameter or to click on the field.  By design, the software only allows for one filelist.txt not multiple. We have sent this problem to the proper department for review and action.

    Thank you,

You can enter any value you want in the filename. When the flag is set to read from the filelist.txt then it will ignore the value given for filename.

Tried that, what happens is the the check box for "read content from file" becomes unchecked after you save the rule with a value in the "file name" text box.

Running v7.15.2, I don't see a "flag" in the file-age rule, however the tooltip indicates I should be able to check it. My guess is that the tooltip is wrong but I would like to doublcheck this, because this would save me a lot of work to test for several backup files to see if they are indeed all present (and updated in this case)...

Tooltip for fileage is indeed incorect

If you need to check it on multiple files, you might want to consider creating a custom alert and do it in a script (EXTERNAL check type)

Issue reported gmillerarmt is fixed in 7.15.5

excellent. As always thanks for the quick responce. I'll get 7.15.5 installed.

7.15.5 Still doesn't work. If you check the "Read content from file" check box then save the rule. Then edit the rule again the checkbox doesn't stay checked.

checked it again and flag is saved (as it was in older versions but box was not checked when opened again).

You want to download the s-server.exe component again:

the downloaded s-server.exe fixed the issue. The checkbox saves and multiple file checking is confirmed to work.
