Problem with HD-Audio Device

SteveVNSteveVN
When the WinXP Embedded starts up, I get an error message that the HD Audio device is not working properly.

Skype refuses to dial out when this audio device is not working.

Is there something I can do like install new drivers and which must I use ?

What error message do you get with the HD Audio Device? Voice calling is not a recommended alerting option as outlined in several threads - especially with Skype it is not reliable.

You can download the original sound / audio drivers from following url:

    http://files.serverscheck.net/drivers/appliance/AUDIO.zip

Let us know if reinstalling the drivers solved the reported issue.

it did not help and I figured it out my self (el stupido) I access Servercheck Appliance from RDP, you don't have audio over RDP that skype can use.

If I log in locally then it works perfectly ;-)

Oh yes, yesterday the device did it's job again perfectly.

It send me an SMS (overheat but I was asleep) and then a server down SMS (and this got my attention) went over, and was just intime to prevent complete meltdown of the secundary serverroom ;-)

    Hi,

I also get this error message. It says "HDeck.exe - Application Error: The instruction at "0x0045d913" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program".

Since "http://files.serverscheck.net/drivers/appliance/AUDIO.zip" requires to insert CD-ROM, I cannot proceed.

Please let me know the way to solve this.

(Because I don't need sound function, just disabling the function and stopping this error is also helpful.)

    Software version is 7.15.2.

HDdeck.exe error is generated because you are connecting over RDP. Hddeck.exe (the GUI app side) doesn't work over RDP. You can disregard the message.
