Runway Job
We received an alert for an external check, however we're certain the alert was not legitimate. In the debug log output of serverscheck, we get entries indicating a runaway job:
# O1 Sat Sep 29 06:09:52 2007 1167864283EXTERNAL - Starting check
# O1 Sat Sep 29 06:09:52 2007 - 1167864283EXTERNAL - 3 Alert when: On each status change is true
# O1 Sat Sep 29 06:09:52 2007 - 1167864283EXTERNAL - 3 OK ne DOWN and DOWN ne "DOWN?" and On each status change eq "On each status change"
# O1 Sat Sep 29 06:09:52 2007 - Starting alerting procedure for 1167864283EXTERNAL with status: DOWN (see logging in alertslogs directory)
# M Sat Sep 29 06:09:52 2007 Runaway job: A1167864283EXTERNAL.0.037841796875
# O1 Sat Sep 29 06:09:52 2007 1167864283EXTERNAL - DOWN - Valid_String not returned by external check -
What does the runaway job indicate? Could it be causing a false positive?
We are using version 7.5.3.
